The Halifax Waterfront is now home to a new Nova Scotia built wooden submarine and underwater garden wall. Working with Waterfront Development and partners, Fogo was part of a collaborative team of Nova Scotian designers and boatbuilders that helped develop the signature design.
During the concept development phase, Fogo provided a plethora of outlandish ideas - some of which we hope will still come to fruition in future stages of development. Consultant and Landscape Architect, Sue Sirrs, from Outside! Planning and Design Studio lead the project from start to finish and was a great supporter of Fogo's vision.
Fogo designed the underwater garden wall, which stands as the backdrop to the playground. The wall was lovingly crafted by Todd Vassallo at Project Works Artistry. Fogo also helped with colour consultation for the submarine, the ground surfacing, and the octopus wall.
Margot is passionate about including interactive components into play environments. She has expressed a keen interest in pursuing a new wave of playground design, different from the standard playgrounds seen around Halifax today.
